My artistic practice examines specific themes that engage with our broken world. As these evolve over time, they form distinct groups and I add to them in an unplanned way, usually in response to a new image or related images from my collection of referent photographs, drawings and printed material. I make paintings, construct collages and assemblages exploring a mix of materials including paint, melted plastics, expanding foam, metals and decaying plants - often laid on wood - that I can roast in an oven. For me they are a taste of rapture at the co-existence of the imagination and the physical.
Albedo Marz will be at art_house_life every day throughout Ventnor Fringe 2024.
